We are looking for an enthusiastic Outdoor Plant Area Assistant to join our team at Manor Nursery Garden Centre. If you know your perennials from your annuals and don’t mind rolling up your sleeves, we would love to hear from you

The role

As part of our outdoor team, you will be the face of our outdoor plant department, your day-to-day will involve

·         Providing friendly, helpful advice to customers about plant care and selection.

·         Watering, deadheading, and ensuring all outdoor plants are beautifully presented and healthy.

·         Unloading deliveries and merchandising new plant stock.

·         General tidying, sweeping and maintaining a safe environment for our customers.

What we are looking for

·         Plant knowledge: A solid understanding of outdoor plants, shrubs and trees or keen to learn

·         Physical Fitness: This is a hands-on, active role, you must be comfortable spending your day on your feet in all weather conditions and capable of heavy lifting (moving large pots, bags of compost and pushing loaded trolleys).

·         Comfortable talking to the public: A lot of our work is helping customers with their garden plants and how to go about looking after it. Being able to communicate with our customers is essential.

Details

·         Hours: approx. 25hrs/week (these hours are negotiable)

·         Days: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday
